Frequently Asked Questions

When are tours offered?
Our tours are offered year-round. Please check our Calendar for current schedules. In addition to the regular schedule, we offer private tours and special events throughout the year. If you have a group that would like to tour the mine outside of the posted days and hours, call 303-569-2468 to make arrangements.

Are reservations required?
Advance reservations and payment are required at this time. We ask that your arrive 10 minutes early for a tour. This allows our guides to check in all guests and begin the tour on time.

Are children allowed on tours?
Yes, children are welcome on our tours. We offer child-priced tickets for ages 4-16 and children under 4 are always free.  Please note that unaccompanied minors are not allowed on any of our tours. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to join tours.

Are there bathrooms
There are out-house style port-o-potties on the mine site with water spouting from a rock you can wash your hands at. If it is modern luxuries you are looking for like porcelain then we recommend stopping at the Georgetown Visitors Center or Town Hall where public restrooms have flushing toilets and warmer running water.
